Lately we’ve been seeing a trend of subtle slab backsplashes with intricate edge styles.  These backsplashes work well with wall-mounted fixtures but can be used in a variety of applications.  Notice how they are all almost solid or light-patterned stones.  Using a heavy patterned stone for this application may not have the same effect.
