The main goal of this project was to open everything up and use both the spaces to their full potential. The kitchen extended into the existing formal dining room creating room for more storage, two islands and plenty of space for entertaining. The wood flooring and accents were important elements the client wanted to keep. The blue island contrasts nicely with the wood floor and serves as a nice pop of color against the white cabinets and quartz counter tops. All the bathroom needed was a rework of the space planning to allow room for a separate tub and shower and his/her vanities. Some of the rustic elements from the kitchen are repeated in the bathroom including the sliding barn doors that allow the space to be closed off from the bedroom. A marble mosaic is repeated in all three spaces: backsplash in kitchen, trim around the fireplace and backsplash near the tub in the bathroom.
