These clients have a beautiful, contemporary home built in the 1980s. A home that’s style has withstood the tests of time. After nearly 40 years in the home, the clients wanted to rework their master bathroom into a space that kept the house’s modernity while incorporating elements that could support their future needs. Being a certified aging in place specialist, we feel that it is important to consider incorporating aging in place features when remodeling. This was achieved by removing their old sunk-in tub and replacing it with a large barrier-free shower complete with vertical and horizontal ADA towel bars, an adjustable shower head, trough drains and slip resistant tiling. Also, some of the plumbing fixtures and even the toilet paper holder can be used as ADA grab bars. Applying coastal elements through the blue walls and beautiful mosaic tiles catered to this client’s taste and turned this master bathroom into a space they can enjoy for years to come!
